Hi,
My name is Rich Rudolph and through a family entity we recently purchased 176 Weston Road. We have lived in Weston for over 25 years. I am sure many of you know us, as we have been involved in all sorts of activities in town, and we look forward to meeting many more of you in the future.
This all came together very quickly, starting in September. We want to thank the people at Norfield Congregational Church for trusting us with this historic property versus other potentially less community friendly alternatives.
While structurally sound, the farmhouse has fallen into internal disrepair, with old infrastructure and water damage from a frozen pipe this past winter. We have included some images for all to see. Investment is required to avoid a deteriorating property at the gateway to our town which will restore it to a prominent position on the four corners.
As long-time residents, we are acutely aware of the unique character of Weston and the value of maintaining the core essence of our town. We are different than other towns in Fairfield county, which is the reason many of us moved here in the first place. We also believe that limited investment in the commercial footprint at the center of town is necessary to ensure a thriving community into the future and will provide dramatic improvements in the quality of life to families.
We are asking for a little time and a chance to develop a plan that compliments and respects our heritage. We are not developers and have not done anything like this before. To help us we are assembling a team of Weston centric architects, land use professionals and civil engineers to evaluate alternatives. Our job will be to make sure any proposal emphasizes and celebrates the unique qualities that make Weston our home, knowing that the "proof will be in the pudding."
